"I’ll do my best acting as a clown.
This way, maybe I’ll manage acting as a man, in the name of all” "
Michel Quint

C'est pas drôle ! (That’s not funny!)

Show for all ages, length: 60 minutes.

C’est pas drôle !, a clowns show, a trip towards a nowhere which is everywhere because ridicule, clumsiness, humour and music are the connecting thread; everything is displayed, in a subtle way, or not. Clown Luis & Clown Sophie, a duo of red-nosed clowns, a man and a woman, an implied reference to clownish tradition. In a series of tricks close to a variety show. She is tall, slim and mischievous, in her beautiful dress and holding a violin she makes sing. He is short and big with his necktie and his long coat, his bushy hair and his looks of latin lover he has always wanted to be.

This clowns show is a series of sketches which are as unlikely as hilarious, with a set of very simple items: brooms, dustbins, feather dusters, two chairs, and the splendid violin, all of them coming together to overwhelm clowns’ daily life.

In a subtle and simple way, we have got gestures and facial expressions, fights too, because the two companions are alternately subjects, rivals and allies.

On the stage, their complicity quickly charms the public and their complementarity is obvious. Thus, most of their sketches spring from improvisations they polished up as shows went by.

In C’est pas drôle !, clowns Luis and Sophie take their fragility and their wild kid eyes around. They come to show us magic but nothing works as they wanted, one wants to sing and juggle, and the other plays violin. One must go with the other by dancing but he loses his temper on the stage and gets out of control.

Luis and Sophie do not need many words to express themselves; their faces, their little gestures and their looks are enough for them. Sometimes, they get annoyed, they grumble or mumble.
